The Arsenal captain William Gallas has been reported today as being a target for both Barcelona and Paris St Germain.
The 31 year-old Frenchman has been told that he will be stripped of his captaincy in the coming season, after he lost his cool in a game against Birmingham at the end of last season.
This has alerted new Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola who wants him to join his ex-clubmates Alexandr Hleb and Thierry Henry. He knows that Gallas is still one of the best defenders around, even if he is getting on a bit for Wenger's Young Gunners.
At 31, the ex-Chelsea man will be available at around £5million because of his age, and that also attracts PSG Paul Le Guen, who alongside president Charles Villeneuve is in the process of a Barcelona style revolution in France.
They have already signed Ludovic Giuly from Roma this week, and Claude Makelele from Chelsea is expected to sign any day now.
